Why our hours look different

Built around when pet owners actually need a vet

9 PM

Open late on weeknights

Monday, Thursday, and Friday we stay open until 9 PM. Most vets in St. Pete have locked up by 6. Come after work, after school pickup, after dinner.

Sat

Saturday, 10 to 8

A full ten hours on Saturday. Bring your dog in after the morning walk or your cat in after the beach. No appointment needed.

Sun

Yes, we are open Sundays

Sunday 10 AM to 4 PM. Finding a vet open on Sunday in St. Petersburg is hard. Now you know one.

Same-day care, no appointment

Walk in, or save your spot from the couch

You do not need to be an existing client, and you do not need to call ahead. If you would rather skip the lobby, check in online and we will text you when it is almost your turn.

1

Check in

Walk through the door, or tap Save Your Spot Online and add your pet to the line before you leave the house.

2

Get seen

Our veterinary team examines your pet, talks you through what they are seeing, and explains the options before anything is done.

3

Head home

Most visits are handled the same day, with medications, lab work, and X-rays available right here. You pay for the care your pet receives, with no emergency room fees.

Evenings and weekends

What we can handle after hours, and what we cannot

We are an urgent care clinic, which means we see the things that cannot wait until Monday but do not need a 24-hour hospital. That covers most of what walks through our door.

Where our patients come from

A short drive from most of Pinellas

We are downtown on Dr. M.L.K. Jr Street South, minutes from I-275 and the Pinellas Bayway. Evening and weekend traffic is light, so if your usual vet is closed, we are probably closer than you think.

Questions we hear a lot

Hours and walk-in FAQs

Is there a vet open on Sunday in St. Petersburg?

Yes. CentralPet Express Care is open Sundays from 10 AM to 4 PM for walk-in and same-day visits. No appointment is needed, and you do not have to be an existing client.

Is there a vet open late near me?

CentralPet is open until 9 PM on Monday, Thursday, and Friday, and until 8 PM on Saturday. We are located downtown at 19 Dr. M.L.K. Jr St S in St. Petersburg, a short drive from Gulfport, Pinellas Park, and the beaches.

Do I need an appointment?

No. Walk-ins are welcome any time we are open. If you would like to shorten your wait, use Save Your Spot Online to check in before you arrive, or schedule a visit for a specific time.

Why are you closed on Tuesday and Wednesday?

We shifted those hours to the evenings and the weekend, which is when most St. Pete pet owners told us they actually need a vet. If something comes up on a Tuesday or Wednesday, call us and we will help you figure out the best place to go.

Do you charge more for evenings or weekends?

No. You pay for the care your pet receives, the same as any other visit. There are no emergency room fees or after-hours surcharges at CentralPet.

What if my pet gets sick after 9 PM?

If it is a true emergency, such as trouble breathing, major trauma, seizures, or a bloated belly, go directly to a 24-hour emergency hospital. If it can wait until morning, we open at 1 PM on weekdays and 10 AM on weekends, and you can save your spot online as soon as you wake up.

Are you open on holidays?

Holiday hours can change. Check our Google Business Profile or give us a call before you head over on a major holiday.
