The vet you call when your vet can't see you today.

Your dog started limping this morning. Your cat hasn't eaten since yesterday. Your regular clinic is booked through next week and the ER quoted a number that made you wince. That in-between is exactly where CentralPet lives. We're a locally owned walk-in vet in St. Petersburg, here for the things that need a doctor today but don't need a hospital.

All hours

Locally owned. Not a chain, not a franchise. Just a St. Pete team that wanted a better option for the neighborhood's pets.

01

Seen today, not next Tuesday

Walk in or save your spot online. We're open evenings and weekends, which is usually when these things happen anyway.

02

Fair prices, no surprises

Express care costs a fraction of an emergency visit. You'll see an estimate before we start, and financing is there if you need it.

03

Real people who'll remember your dog's name

Small team, calm rooms, and a doctor who explains what's going on in plain English. Now including surgery like TPLO, right here in St. Pete.

Whatever it is, we'll see them today.

Most of what walks through our door is the everyday stuff: an ear that won't stop itching, a stomach that won't settle, a limp that showed up out of nowhere. We handle it in one visit, with the lab and pharmacy right here.

TPLO surgery, right here in St. Pete.

A torn CCL is one of the most common injuries we see in dogs, and TPLO is the gold-standard repair. Until now that meant a referral, a long wait, and specialty-hospital pricing. Now it means a consult with us, a surgery date that isn't weeks away, and one flat fee you'll know before you say yes.

$4,900

Flat fee. Consult and surgery day included.

Follow-up visits and recheck X-rays are billed separately. 0% APR for 12 months available through Cherry for qualified pet parents.

No appointment. No runaround. Just come in.

Most people have never used a walk-in vet before, so here's the whole thing in three steps. It's closer to a good urgent care for people than to anything you've experienced at an animal hospital.

1

Step one

Walk in, or save your spot

Pet problems don't check the calendar, so neither do we. Come straight in during open hours, including evenings and weekends, or check in online first and we'll text you when it's nearly your turn.

Open evenings and weekends
2

Step two

We check you in and triage

A team member gets your pet's history and takes a first look. Like any urgent care, the sickest patients go first, so a short wait usually means your pet is doing okay. We'll keep you posted the whole time.

Most urgent seen first
3

Step three

Home together, feeling better

Exam, diagnostics, and treatment all happen here, with the lab and pharmacy in-house. You leave with a plan you understand, medications in hand, and a much calmer pet than an ER night would have given you.

Lab and pharmacy on site

Before you come

A few things that make the visit smoother

Any records from your regular vet, or just their name so we can request them.
Current medications, or a photo of the labels.
A leash or carrier. Cats do best in a carrier with a towel over it.
A note on your phone about what you've noticed and when it started.

Emergency? If your pet is struggling to breathe, has collapsed, is bleeding heavily, or is having seizures, skip us and go straight to Beacon Emergency Veterinary Hospital. We'll always send you there if it's more than express care can handle.

Ready when you are

Save your spot, or just walk in.

Online check-in holds your place in line so you can wait at home instead of in the lobby. Walk-ins are always welcome too.

Real visits. Real relief.

Word for word from pet parents who walked in on a Saturday afternoon, a Sunday, or late on a weeknight, when nobody else was open.

Late on a weeknight
"My dog needed non-life threatening vet care late last night and their facility and staff were amazing. Audrie, our tech, and Dr. P were so kind and so sweet with my dog. They even gave my dog a new toy as a token of bravery for her visit."

A Sunday
"He was able to be seen on Sunday and start getting some relief. The vet was really nice, explained everything well. I thought the price was very reasonable. Central Pet is a great resource for downtown St. Pete, especially the Edge District."
